Answer to Question 1

True

Answer to Question 2

An infant grows faster the first year than at any other time. Their growth reflects their nutritional well-being. Breast milk excels as a source of nutrients for the young infant. With the exception of vitamin D and fluoride, breast milk provides all the nutrients a healthy infant needs for the first 4-6 months of life. Breast milk offers the infant protection against infection from viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens that cannot be achieved any other way. Breastfed children are less likely to develop stomach and intestinal disorders and middle ear infections, and are less likely to develop wheezing.
