Answer to Question 1

Dark, non-stick pans transmit the most energy since they absorb the most heat. Next, air bake pans conduct heat but transfer it evenly. Aluminum pans are good conductors of heat energy and decrease the incidence of over baking. Glass is a poor heat energy transmitter.

Answer to Question 2

If the aluminum pans had been covered, the water would have heated faster because less heat would have escaped from the top.
