Both emergent and effective leaders are high in extraversion, openness to experience, and conscientiousness and low on neuroticism. The main difference is in agreeablenessemerge nt leaders such as Brian are just average in agreeableness, but effective leaders such as Tammy are high. In other words, the sharp elbows that allow people to fight their way to the top may hinder their ability to perform there.
