Answer: Emergent leaders and effective leaders have some key personality similarities, but also some differences. Both emergent and effective leaders are high in extraversion, openness to experience, and conscientiousness and low on neuroticism. The main difference is in agreeablenessemerge nt leaders such as Brian are just average in agreeableness, but effective leaders such as Tammy are high. In other words, the sharp elbows that allow people to fight their way to the top may hinder their ability to perform there.

Answer: Transformational leaders are people who change their organizations in large and fundamental ways rather than simply managing the organization. Steve Jobs was a quintessential transformational leader high in openness to experience. When he returned to Apple in the late 1990s, he radically changed Apple's product strategies, focusing on products that changed the landscape of technology, music, and retail. Jobs was also known for his creativity, his wide-ranging interests, and his interest in questioning established ideasall harbingers of openness.
