Answer to Question 1

a

Answer to Question 2

People who have limited incomes will buy inexpensive, readily available foods that are often high in fats and sugars but are low in other essential nutrients. People who regularly eat these types of foods are likely exceeding their daily calorie requirements, which could contribute to obesity in the long run. Many urban areas in the U.S. where low-income people live (known as food deserts) do not have supermarkets with inexpensive, fresh whole foods that would provide the essential nutrients. This further limits people's nutritional options. Figure 15-2 illustrates the link between hunger and obesity.
