Answer to Question 1

It is difficult to obtain sufficient amounts of vitamin B12, vitamin D, zinc, and iron if a woman is a vegan. If she is a lacto-ovo vegetarian, she can get most of the nutrients. She may need to supplement her iron intake.
Meat and animal products contain all of the essential amino acids. A vegan woman who is allergic to soy products may have a harder time getting all of her essential amino acids from only plant-based foods.
