Men have more alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) enzyme in their stomach than women. ADH breaks down alcohol into acetaldehyde, which does not have the same effect on the brain or body as alcohol.
Men have more lean muscle tissue than women. Lean tissue helps to dilute alcohol within the body more effectively than fat tissue.
