One example, given in this video, is black pepper that can enhance the effects of allergy medicines. Many allergy medicines may increase blood pressure or increase feelings of nervousness. Black pepper may block the breakdown of the drug in the body or enhance the effects of the drug such that a person experiences a spike in blood pressure or feelings of extreme anxiety. There are other answers as well.
