People on weight-loss regimens should avoid high-carbohydrate foods.
  Indicate whether the statement is true or false

Discuss any one reason why the low-carb diet in this case, could have reduced blood cholesterol in the people. Would this be typical for most low carb diets, why or why not?

This particular low carbohydrate diet does not contain large amounts of meats as compared with more typical low carbohydrate diet plans. As a result, the intake of saturated fats and cholesterols in this diet are likely lower than in other low-carb diets. There are studies that suggest that high levels of saturated fat intakes, coupled with high levels of refined carbohydrate intakes, may increase the levels of LDL in the blood.
