Answer to Question 2

Components of the Message Development Model include
1) Define the issue or information to be communicated based on the target audience needs.
2) Develop initial message concepts such as actions or behavioral changes to be implemented by the target audience. Initial message concepts should also consider potential incentives as well as barriers that may inhibit the target audience from adopting the behavior change.
3) Assess the message concepts involves pre-testing the contents with selected members of the target audience for comprehension, personal relevance, and appropriateness.
4) The fourth step involves fine tuning the message for added clarity and positive reception by the audience.
5) The fifth and last step reflects validating the message for greater impact and effectiveness in reaching a wider audience.
