Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
Wave action is a normal part of sorting. Glaciers can pick up and carry particles of all size as they
travel. They deposit the sediments as they start to melt. Large particles move towards the shelf edge
when the sea level is lower. Turbidity currents can transport a mixture of sediment sizes from the
continental margin to the deep ocean. Information can be found in the section Neritic Sediments
Overlie Continental Margins

Answer to Question 2

ANS: D
The deep ocean floor covers 78 of the ocean's area. Despite the massive area it covers, the deep
ocean floor only consists of 13 of the volume of marine sediments. Information can be found in the
section Sediments May be Classified by Source.
