Answer to Question 1

The curriculum vitae is used for several reasons, one of which is overseas job hunting. The standard CV is between
four and eight pages long and may contain personal information, references, and detailed education information. In
most cases, it will include a recent picture.
A resume is usually no more than two pages and doesn't include personal information, references, and a picture. In
a resume, the information is presented in short phrases and uses a bullet format. In a CV, more detailed information
is given and may be summarized in paragraph form.

Answer to Question 2

A prospecting cover letter is written by an applicant who does not know a job opening exists. It is written to
express the applicant's interest in working for a particular company, to call attention to the applicant's
qualifications, and to inquire about the possible of a job opening.
A solicited cover letter is written in response to an announcement that a job opening exists. A solicited letter can be
more specific than a prospecting letter because the applicant knows a job opening exists.
Prospecting cover letters may not be read as many organizations only review letters and resumes when they have
openings.
