Answer to Question 1

Diabetes is accompanied by accelerated aging of the arteries, with blindness being one of the more serious side effects. his condition is called diabetic retinopathy. It is characterized by fluid retention in the macula, hemorrhage, and aneurysms. This disease takes years to develop, and as such, is more commonly seen in people who developed diabetes early in life.

Answer to Question 2

While young people's voices tend to be full and resonant, older voices tend to sound weaker and thinner. There are a number of theories for why these changes occur. Some researchers speculate that this is due to changes in the larynx (the voice box), the respiratory system, and the muscles that control speech. Others contend that these changes are due to poor health and are not typical of normative aging. What we do know is that age-related changes in the voice include lowering of pitch, increased breathlessness, trembling, slower and less precise pronunciation, and decreased volume.
