Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

Any 3-D solid object can be made from a digital model, as layers of material are laid down in different shapes. Of greatest concern to criminal justice agencies is that the applications of this technology include the ability to make plastic guns and other illegal materials that can slip through metal detectors. The capabilities of such printers are now well-known: In May 2013 a Texas law student fired a plastic gun he had created with a 3-D printer; he then posted the plans on a website, which received more than 100,000 hits before federal authorities were able to get the plans removed.
