Some caregivers argue that the large variation of ages in a school-age program makes it difficult to have a successful field trip to a community resource. How would you refute that statement?

Answer to Question 1

The children can be divided into smaller groups according to the age levels of the children and taken to different sites best suited for their age level.

Answer to Question 2

Children can walk to places close to the child care center, or use public transportation such as buses, and parents can be asked to pick up their children at the place being visited. (Another response would include renting or using donated buses and vans from churches.)
