Some teachers feel that they might be at risk for losing their job if they callin sick, because substitutes in early childhood education environments are not always easy to find and directors often make them feel responsible for being at work under any condition. Another reason might be the loss of income. The early childhood education environment often pays low wages and a teacher may need the money to survive.
