The health policy for exclusion should include both children and adults. Explain what reasons a teacher might have for working even though he or she might be seriously ill.

This is a very complex question. Some teachers feel that they might be at risk for losing their job if they callin sick, because substitutes in early childhood education environments are not always easy to find and directors often make them feel responsible for being at work under any condition. Another reason might be the loss of income. The early childhood education environment often pays low wages and a teacher may need the money to survive.

Answer to Question 2

Fever may be a result of too much activity, warm weather, teething, or the body overheating due to other circumstances. If a child has no other signs or symptoms and does not appear to be ill, the fever may not be a problem.
