Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
Believe the child; commend the child for telling you; communicate your support; temper your own reactions and do not convey your own feelings; report the suspected abuse to your supervisor, the childs parent(s), the designated social service agency, and/or the police; find special agencies that deal with sexual abuse victims.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER:
Quality care usually means higher wages, more personnel, and more trained personnel. Poor-quality child care threatens childrens emotional and intellectual development, and often basic safety and health measures are lacking. Quality is affected by group size, low teacher/child ratios, trained and experienced staff, adequate compensation, and safe and stimulating environments.
