Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
Much of childrens development and knowledge is culture-specific; learning is best done in a collaborative style; teachers and families should agree on what children are to learn; mixed-age groupings and one-on-one tutoring are effective ways to encourage learning.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER:
Cognition can occur without language; children show their thinking through their behavior. Yet improving language aids in cognitive development, as children demonstrate their knowledge through language, and elaborate and communicate with language.
