Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:

Families have different knowledge about the child than the teacher has. They know the childs physical, medical, social, and intellectual history. They know the child as a member of a family and the role that the child plays in that family group. Through the family, a teacher learns about the home life of the child, who they live with, in what kind of family situation, and what their lifestyle is like. Families bring a sense of continuity about the child. They know what makes their child happy, sad, and how he or she reacts to changes.
