Question 1

A catheter is inserted in the femoral artery and passed into the aorta, into the brachiocephalic artery, and then further into the right common carotid artery.

Question 2

This patient was diagnosed with heart block during this admission. A permanent pacemaker was recommended to the patient, and he consented to have it done. The day after admission the patient was taken to the operating room and given general anesthesia. The bipolar electrode was introduced, taken to the pulmonary artery, and brought out slowly to the apex of the right ventricle. Measurements revealed that positioning was excellent. The patient tolerated the procedure well and returned to the recovery area.
