By virtue of its large hotels and plentiful rooms, Las Vegas has recently derived more that half of its revenues from non-gaming sources. Visitors to Las Vegas stay longer and wind up spending more money on restaurants and shows than visitors to Atlantic City. The latter has a relative dearth of hotel room supply and thus depends primarily on day-trippers who would not be spending money on hotel rooms and entertainment.
