If a balloon is filled with helium in a warm room and then tied to a mailbox outside on a day when the temperature is 2oC, what will happen to the balloon, and why?

◦ The internal pressure in the balloon will decrease as the temperature decreases, so that the pressure inside the balloon may not be much greater than the external pressure. The balloon will most likely look as if it isn’t full, and it may not even float.
