Answer to Question 1

Answer: The cycle reflects the fact that people who are aggressive elicit negative reactions from others, including teachers, peers, and authority figures. Consequently, they suffer more setbacks, such as expulsion from school, social rejection, and incarceration. These experiences increase frustration in their lives and lead to more aggressiveness.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: Death instinct: desire to end one's own life, redirected toward the destruction of another person. Critique is that this type of instinct makes no evolutionary sense because it would not have been adaptive.
