The period from 1839 through the 1960's in the United States is labeled as the separate but equal period in marriage history. What does this mean?
 
  a. Women were no longer under the control of their husbands.
  b. Women and men had the same rights and responsibilities in marriage.
  c. Women and men had different rights and responsibilities in marriage.
