Hochschild (cited by Aulette) studied husbands and wives about the division of housework. She found that men either share the work or they resist by using various strategies. These strategies include all of the following EXCEPT:
 
  a. Passively avoid taking responsibility by forgetting things, doing tasks in an unskilled way, and waiting to be asked.
