After reading Chapter 2 (Methodology), what would you say to a president who proudly takes credit for the following events happening during his term: lowering the deficit, reducing crime, and increasing literacy?
 
  a. It's clear you were effectiveyou have my vote
  b. Correlation does not mean causation.
  c. Did you sample the entire population?
  d. Archival data are often suspect.

Question 2

Why is it unwise to conclude that if two variables are correlated, one must have caused the other?
