Why do some people unconsciously avoid setting goals?
 
  a. If they don't set goals, they believe they will be able to accomplish more.
  b. If they don't accomplish anything, it won't seem like failure.
  c. They are afraid the goals will be regarded as foolish, unintelligent, or unworthy.
  d. They want to avoid restricting the rights of others.

- We tell ourselves that we want the truth, but we think it's OK to lie to others.
- We tell ourselves that we can tell when others are lying, but that others can't tell when we're lying to them.
- We tell ourselves that we aren't truthful because we don't want to hurt others' feelings, when the truth is that we don't want disapproval from others.
