become more conscious of their own background and begin to form an ethnic identity
within the context of their cultural history. Answers regarding challenges will vary and
should include the struggle of balancing their parents' background and cultural
practices with their new social context, possible conflict over choice of vocation or
partner, and the independent decision making of the peer group that may clash with
their parents' expectations.
