Answer to Question 1

Peers are considered to be most vital in cultures that do not have a strong
patriarchal authority, such as in North America, East Asia, and the street children in
Latin America. The peer group is less influential in patriarchal cultures with large
extended families such as those in South Asia and Arab countries.

Answer to Question 2

Michelle will most likely apologize for the incident. She will tend to interpret the action
as an accident. Lisa will most likely respond with anger and interpret the action as
intentional. Michelle may try to help Lisa recover her backpack from the floor but Lisa
will probably reject her help.
