Answer to Question 1

Answers should differentiate between Skinner's theory of reinforcement and
conditioning and Chomsky's structuralist approach, based on the child's inborn
predisposition to learn speech (LAD).

Answer to Question 2

In the first two years, perceptual development involves learning the affordances of
objects, the constancy of objects, and depth perception. Cognitive development
includes the beginning of understanding of categories, object permanence, memory
skills, and cause-and-effect reasoning. Language development includes babbling,
holophrastic speech, two-word speech, and larger combinations of words.
