Answer to Question 1

Intellectual growth seems to occur in two major spurts. The first occurs at about the age of 6 and coincides with the shift from preoperational to concrete-operational thought. The second occurs at about the age of 10 or 11 . By the time they reach middle childhood, children appear to undergo more stable patterns of gains in intellectual functioning. Intelligence test scores at the age of 9 strongly correlate with scores at the age of 10 and more moderately with scores at the age of 18 . Testing at age 1 shows a moderate to high relationship with scores at the age of 77
