Answer to Question 1

Growth during the middle childhood years can best be described as steady. Although there can be large differences, most children gain a little over 2 inches in height per year. This steady pattern of growth continues until the adolescent growth spurt. Until this growth spurt occurs in girls, boys continue to be taller and heavier. Girls, however, begin the adolescent growth spurt around age 11 and quickly become both taller and heavier than boys. Boys do not tend to experience the adolescent growth spurt until the ages of 13 or 14.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
