Metamemory is the child's understanding of his or her own memory. It reflects the child's increasing efficiency and control over cognitive processes.

Answer to Question 2

Recognition memory is the ability to identify whether a stimulus has previously been encountered. Recall memory is the ability to produce stimuli that one has previously encountered.
