What is modeling, and how can it be used to train children in social skills?

Tyrone is participating in an experiment in which he has to find the objects the researcher names. The three objects on the table are an apple, a balloon, and a garlic press. Tyrone has never seen a garlic press before. When the researcher asks Tyrone to find the glipka, Tyrone points to the garlic press because ________.

Answer to Question 1

Modeling is exposing children to live or recorded models displaying desirable behaviors. Compared with their baseline behaviors, withdrawn children exposed to models increased the number of their social interactions and, in turn, were the objects of more positive social behaviors from others.
