Knowing:    A projectile is fired from the ground vertically upward with an initial velocity of 29 m/s and arrives at its max altitude in 3 seconds

In the absence of air friction, a projectile will always hit the ground at the same speed at which it was launched, providing the two points are the same elevation.

BTW, t = V/g = 29/9.81 = 2.956 sec (OK, so that's 3 sec to 1 sig fig...)
