Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

In the past decades, girls' participation in sports has increased dramatically because of the sociopolitical environment. Girls who participate in greater amounts of sports tend to have a higher sense of self-worth as college students. Part of the way sports participation impacts self-esteem is by affecting girls' body image and sense of physical competence. Girls involved in sports tend to feel better about their bodies and tend to be more physically competent. Both of these features promote esteem.
