Imagine that you are a psychological consultant and that you've been called in to give advice and make recommendations regarding Mind Master Corporation's use of IQ testing. The MMC managers want to use IQ scores to select employees and assign them to various jobs and positions. The main problem is that IQ is better viewed as a measure of current intellectual functioning than as a measure of overall, fixed intellectual capacity. The company might miss some potentially good workers who only need training and development. Another problem is that capable minority group applicants might be overlooked due to linguistic and cultural biases in the tests.
