The student should point out that girls influence other girls to play with dolls and emphasize domesticity, nurturing, passivity, imagination, and emotional expression. Girls often put down other girls for physical unattractiveness; intelligent girls are often teased by boys. Boys expect other boys to play with action figures and emphasize logic, rule-following, competition, and aggressiveness. Boys promote gender stereotypes.
