Answer to Question 1

The neural structures that would be encountered that are covered by the chapter include the following (in order):
(a) dendrites  receiving ends or branches of the neuron
(b) cell body  the center of the cell that contains the basic biological machinery that keeps the neuron alive
(c) axon  a tubelike structure that transmits a message to other neurons and is covered and protected by Myelin
(d) terminal buttons  small knobs at the end of a neuron that release neurotransmitters
(e) neurotransmitters  chemical substances that allow neurons to communicate with each other.
