Answer to Question 1

The student should indicate that the Fourth National Incidence Study of Child Abuse and Neglect found that child abuse and neglect nearly doubled in the U.S., from 1.4 million in 1986 to more than 2.8 million in 1993. During that same time, the number of seriously injured children quadrupled. Only 28 of the children identified as abused were investigated by a government agency. Risk factors that were identified in the study were single-parent households, large numbers of family members, and poverty, and girls were more at risk for sexual abuse.

Answer to Question 2

Number of days since last payment X Principal Balance Outstanding X Interest Rate Factor = Interest Amount
