Moral issues involve the American controversy over abortion. More states have found new ways to restrict abortion. From a public health standpoint, when abortions are illegal, maternal deaths increase because of botched illegal abortions. People of different religious beliefs have different attitudes toward abortion regarding when a fetus is considered a person, what circumstances justify abortion, and who decides these circumstances.
