As Western demand for Chinese ceramics increased, Chinese artists created images to both the West and Japan. What aspect of Western art did they master, and what subjects were most popular in the European market?

Answer: Chinese artists mastered the art of perspective in ceramic and print views of Chinese cities for the European markets.

Answer to Question 2

Answer: The discovery of Herculaneum and Pompeii stimulated interest in the public-minded values associated with Roman culture. This intensified the view of the Rococo style as symptomatic of the cultural decadence epitomized by the court.
