Answer: The terms refer to the threads used in tapestry weaving. The warp is the vertical threads held taut on a loom or frame. The weft is the horizontal threads that are woven loosely over and under the warp.

1. One example is weaving, in which fabrics are constructed by interlacing horizontal and vertical threads to create hangings such as tapestry.
2. Another example is embroidery, in which the design is produced by needlework to create hangings.
