Answer to Question 1

Rucha used screenprinting, a technique in which ink is pushed through a stencil against a paper's surface, taking advantage of this medium's ability to produce broad areas of flat, uniform color. Drawing on the giant letters seen on billboards and signs, particularly gas stations, Rucha created a series of prints that linked the connotation of a word to the fundamentals of American life.

Answer to Question 2

Answers will vary depending on the selected printing technique. Selections could be relief, intaglio, lithography, screenprinting, or monotype.
