Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

The opening paragraph should be fairly straightforward when you are responding to an advertised position. The opening should identify the particular position for which you are applying and indicate how you heard about the job. Compose a conservative opening for conservative jobs. When writing unsolicited cover letters, you must first get the reader's attention by discussing something about the company instead of yourself. The opening should be short, interesting, and reader-oriented. Avoid trite, boring opening statements.
