Using italics, script, or underlined text is best avoided when preparing a scannable rsum.
Exotic type fonts may render your document electronically unreadable and hence
unintentionally remove you from consideration.

Answer to Question 2

When preparing a rsum in a format compatible with computers, photocopiers, and scanners,
it is advisable to minimize the use of abbreviations in the rsum. Computers are programmed
to scan rsums posted on the Internet for specific keywords associated with a particular
industry and specific positions within that industry.
