already exceeds industrial standards is the statement that would best help Renee express her
disagreement with Lisa's opinion. In selling your point of view, you will find the Yes, but . . .
technique is more effective; in other words, acknowledge the other person's point of view and
show your respect for it.

Making negative comments when a participant puts forth an infeasible idea is not an effective
practice that a good leader would adopt. Negative comments discourage participation and
should, therefore, be kept to a minimum and presented so tactfully that they do not discourage
others from making suggestions.
