Answer to Question 1

TRUE
A clause is a group of words containing both a subject and a predicate. If the clause
expresses a complete thought and can stand alone as a complete sentence, it is an
independent clause. If the clause cannot stand alone, then it is called a dependent clause.

Answer to Question 2

FALSE
The normal order of a sentence is subject first, then predicate. It is important to be able to
distinguish between normal order and inverted order.
