(2) Remarrieds tend to more openly express criticism and anger than do couples in first marriages; (3) they are also more prone to disagreements, in part because of tension between stepchildren and stepparents, or between stepparents on issues related to childrearing or discipline; (4) remarried men and women are more likely to be depressed than are first-married men and women.
