Almost any viewpoint can be supported by statistics by using those that back up the viewpoint while ignoring those that do not. Statistics are used in this way all the time by organizations to make their claims appear credible. To believe the statistics used by others, you need to know how all the data were collected and analyzed. Then you can determine the truthfulness of the statistics.
